I LOVE THIS BOAT

I LOVE THIS BOAT, 145 Christensen charter yacht

I Love This Boat (ex-Primadonna, ex-Aghassi), is a 145’ Christensen of exceptional beauty. The interior design by Paola Smith, and phenomenal craftsmanship by Michael Homchick and Savoy Studios, renders every space an artistic masterpiece. This private yacht, which was not previously available for charter, is exquisite. Select Yachts toured the yacht on display at the FYBA Open House, Bahia Mar, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Entering the main salon, the flood of light from Christiansen’s signature panoramic windows dance on the ubiquitous reflective surfaces: bevelled mirrors, decorative recessed ceiling, chrome accents, columns with leafy Corinthian capitals of amber fractured glass, high gloss wood cabinetry and polished handles. An elegant, clear glass panel effectively defines the space between living and formal dining areas, enhancing volume without interruption to views. It is an enchanting space, with an atmosphere that is at once supremely elegant and superbly relaxing. Comfortable furniture beckons sinking down into a chair to simply admire the view.

I Love This Boat is one of the most expensive Christiansen’s ever built because of the profusion of artistic detail. Paola Smith, the much-admired Italian interior designer, sketched. Savoy Studios made her vision come to life.

There was little, if any, discussion of cost. Savoy Studios high-end art glass craftsmen out of Portland, created all the cut glass on the yacht; shells, trim rings, onyx inlays, detailed ceiling treatments, sinks, door handles, etc. The cut glass is fiber optic for magical illumination at night. Michael Homchick, from Kenmore, Washington, is well known in the yachting industry for his artistic inlaid stonework. You will see his unmistakable signature on Deltas, Westports and Christensens. His magnificent stonework throughout I Love This Boat is testimony to the spectacular result of very tedious work.

Accommodations are for 10 guests in five cabins. Located amidships on the lower deck are two queen staterooms with walk around beds and excellent storage.  The two twin guest staterooms are designed for adult comfort. All staterooms are en suite with thoughtful amenities.

The master suite is elegant and luxurious, and the master bathroom is dazzling. The full beam stateroom is located forward on the main deck, with a private entrance that opens to an office. The spacious, walk-in cedar closet with built-in cabinetry is equipped with a compact washer and dryer.

The his and hers bathroom features a walk-through shower with a cascading art glass waterfall on one wall. The vanity is also a work of art, with rippling glass that mimics waves and delicate glass leaf drawer pulls.

Up on the bridge deck, the sky lounge ceiling by Savoy is a twinkling representation of the starlit sky that adds an ethereal dimension to the space, especially after dark. The mirrored bar shelves reflect the exterior vista with sparkling clarity. The sophisticated bar designed of fissured glass is crafted by Savoy. The eye-catching game table is made of beautifully grained Macassar Ebony. Outside the aft deck features a casual dining arrangement that accommodates eight. Corner banquettes with cocktail tables are perfect for hors d’oeuvres and intimate conversation with spectacular views.

The sundeck, with barbecue and Jacuzzi, has an ideal layout for outdoor living. The fully equipped bar features a surround of Christensen’s signature barstools. Seating is arranged to allow unobstructed, forward facing views, with helm station and chairs positioned off center. Swivel the barstools facing aft and they integrate the social space with two opposing sofas, port and starboard, for a convivial entertainment area.

Down at the water level, the expansive “beach club” is a fantastic feature. Imagine relaxing on a lounge chair, cocktail in hand, eye level with frolicking dolphins, or anchored in gin-clear water on your own private beach. The SeaBobs, dive gear and inflatable toys are ready to launch. Or you can simply slip off the deck for a swim.

The Owner of I Love This Boat, has been blessed with two infant children, and so is not using the yacht. It is actively for sale with a price tag recently reduced to $14,495,000. The Owner has given permission to charter her until she is sold, which at the rate of $145,000 per week is a remarkable opportunity. Captain Matt George, who has been on board for about a year and a half, is poised to welcome guests embarking on a deluxe charter in Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
