Captain Brayan, SC SEA SEÑOR, Bahamas

Captain Brayan, SEA SEÑOR

Captain Brayan loves his job!

He’s been chartering SEA SEÑOR in Nassau for the past eight years. He tells us, “I’m a Bahamian, I grew up here, and I know absolutely everything about these islands. It’s a big advantage, because I know all of the secret places that others don’t know.” (Of course, he won’t let us print his secrets.)

Discovering special spots is an excellent reason to charter with Brayan. An even better reason is his heartfelt commitment to show everyone a great time. Brayan insures that his guests have the experience of a lifetime. Whether they want to spend all their time in the sea, or on the sand, under sail or exploring ashore, he charts a course to all the best spots.

SEA SEÑOR is based in Nassau.

SEA SEÑOR, does a lot of day sails from Nassau. Brayan heads off to explore some of the nearby islands, like Rose Island and Green Cay, which are right around Nassau. You don’t need to sail far to enjoy fantastic snorkeling and beautiful beaches. And, you can opt to have a fabulous lunch on board. SEA SEÑOR, is also available for Captain-only charters. The kitchen is well-designed for cooking, with plenty of counter space, stove, oven, microwave, dual sinks and three refrigerators to load with provisions.

On week-long charters, Brayan’s itinerary winds through the Exumas. “We sail to the Exuma Cays, starting at Big Majors, Compass Cay, and all the keys around there. Most of the Exuma Cays are uninhabited and a lot of them are private. But you can use the beaches, which are very nice. Also, there are a few sandbars that come right up out of the water, which are very, very nice. There are great snorkeling areas and natural parks that people enjoy.”

Captain Bryan’s Top Spots!

“My favorite places to bring charter guests are Compass Cay and Staniel Cay. Compass Cay has a lot of beautiful beaches and you can swim with the nurse sharks.” (Bravery and mesh suit not required.) At this private island, just south of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, marina workers hand feed some very tame sharks. They have names, are friendly and photogenic.

On Staniel Cay, the Staniel Cay Yacht Club has a nice little bar and restaurant. It’s a must for meeting other yachties and having some refreshment . Old photos from making the 1965 James Bond spy film, “Thunderball,”are hung all over the walls. Sometimes they have live music. Also, you can rent a golf cart and go exploring around the island. There are a few shops and restaurants where you can have a bite of lunch.

Take a Leisurely Sail

Maybe your group just wants to hoist the sails and skim over the water. SEA SEÑOR manouvers beautifully. If guests want to try their hand at running SEA SEÑOR, Brayan sits next to them on the double captain’s chair and provides any needed instruction. Even if they’ve never sailed before, he’s happy to teach them the ropes.

Captain Brayan, SEA SEÑOR

Brayan has hosted all types of charter clients on board SEA SEÑOR, from families with toddlers to seniors on holiday, and loves them all. Brayan says, “The whole area is people-friendly. Whether you’re three or 93, you’ll have a great time. There’s something for everybody.” Brayan’s motto: It’s all OK. He admits that he can’t sing and he can’t dance. But, he says, “I can show you a great time. On all the trips I do, everyone has a great time. It’s my job and I always see to that.” Based on guest reviews, we have no doubt that he does.
