LIONSHARE is a superb, 130’ Heesen, with elegant styling and incredible longevity synonymous with the Dutch brand. Select Yachts recently toured the yacht and chatted with the crew. We were very glad we did. While LIONSHARE is well-known to charter enthusiasts, the yacht went through an extensive refit in 2012 to emerge an even greater beauty. Plus, the crew on board today are more than professional, they’re multitalented.
The main salon welcomes guests with comfortable sofa and armchairs positioned around a low table. The buffet cabinet concealing the television serves to compartmentalize the salon from the formal dining area. Simple, contrasting colors, oversize windows and lots of mirrors really open up an already spacious design.
Appropriately aboard LIONSHARE, each of the five staterooms is named after a different kind of lion. The contemporary, full-beam, master stateroom exudes an atmosphere of calm. The palette of creamy whites contrasts handsomely with deep brown carpeting and accent pieces. His and hers bathrooms feature unusual dual whirlpool tubs.
The lower deck level features a VIP that is sized on par with the master, great for two principal guests chartering together that prefer equivalent accommodations. The bathroom with full bath and separate shower befits a VIP.
On the lower level, accessed separately, is the en suite “nanny cabin’ or kids cabin. This is perfect for a child with a nanny, parents with a newborn, or teenagers who relish several degrees of separation. Kids love it because they can make as much noise as they like without disturbing anyone. In total, LIONSHARE has luxurious accommodations for 12 guests.
The light and airy skylounge has been redesigned and includes a “bigger and better” brand new TV. This is the place to gather together and watch movies, listen to music, catch up with the office, or play games.
Two Jet Skis and the crane are stowed on the foredeck, which makes it easy for the crew to have them in the water before the guests get up for breakfast. This also allows for an expansive, unencumbered aft deck. The dining table, which can seat 12 guests, is always cool in protected shade. Sun loungers with aft-facing views make sun worship a thrilling experience.
The Jacuzzi and a generous surrounded of sunpads are positioned forward. From the banquette, guests can observe the captain at the helm or converse with friends in the Jacuzzi. It’s no wonder that this is the most popular spot on the yacht, boasting spectacular, unobstructed views.
LIONSHARE is a very popular yacht. Last year they did 26 charters in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, plus several weeks with the Owner on board. In addition to expertly taking care of their guests, the eight crewmembers have some special talents. Mike is both a dive and Jet Ski instructor, one of the Stews is both a masseuse and a yoga instructor, and Chef Kaja is proclaimed by the Owner to be the best Chef he’s ever had in 15 years of ownership.
