LAYSAN Charter Catamaran: 8 Islands 8 Days

Laysan 8 Islands 8 Days itinerary

A Leeward Islands Itinerary

for Discerning Clients Who Love to Sail

Why is LAYSAN the best yacht for your Caribbean island-hopping adventure? Performance, speed, stability and space! Charter LAYSAN for a sailing experience above and beyond any other.

The interior and exterior volume will amaze you. The yacht accommodates 10 guests in two deluxe king and two luxury queen cabins and one spacious twin. Thanks to the LOA of 72’ and a 35-foot beam, everyone can dine together, relax in the saloon, enjoy refreshments aft, or sprawl across the trampolines with plenty of elbow room to spare.

Captain Neil believes that, “Laysan is a sailors’ yacht designed for the adventurous spirit”. So, he has written this itinerary especially for LAYSAN, and those intrepid charter enthusiasts seeking an amazing experience.

LAYSAN was built by an experienced yacht captain whose design brief demanded performance sailing without sacrifice to luxury living. This is no ordinary catamaran. Sailing at speeds of over 13 knots feels like flying over the water. And thanks to state-of-the-art, dual hull construction, LAYSAN has remarkable stability under sail, under power, and at anchor.

Day 1: Arrival Antigua, Board LAYSAN

Welcome to paradise! LAYSAN is docked in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua. If you arrive in the morning, spend an hour exploring historic Nelsons Dock Yard before boarding your private charter yacht. Once you’re settled in, we hoist the sails to get a taste of the ocean with a windward sail to Green Island. This private island has several beautiful, secluded beaches and excellent snorkeling right offshore. We overnight in the calm bay of emerald green water.

Day 2: Barbuda

Today we sail north to Barbuda, a lowland island of exceptional natural beauty. Drop anchor and swim ashore. Walk on one of the longest, talcum powder sand beaches in the Caribbean. Barbuda has the deep blue Atlantic on one side, with wild beaches full of driftwood and shells. The Caribbean Sea on the other side has pink sand beaches perfect for swimming and snorkeling. You’ll see turtles, rays, sharks, barracuda and colorful, tropical fish. Barbuda’s thick bushlands, salt ponds and Codrington Lagoon, are home to many species of birds and wildlife.

Day 3: Nevis

We set our course southwest for an ocean sail to the mountainous island of Nevis. Here there’s lots to explore. Hike or take a taxi to the peak of one of the highest mountains to hear wild monkeys howl. Admire Charleston’s colonial era buildings and visit the Museum of Nevis History. Indulge in a rejuvenating spa treatment at the Four Seasons Resort or Hamilton Beach Spa. In the afternoon we sail to St. Kitts to anchor for the night.

Day 4: St. Kitts

Spend the morning enjoying some water sports fun in the clear blue waters of Ballast Bay, St. Kitts. After lunch, a brisk sail brings us to the cosmopolitan French Island of St. Barths, fondly known as the St. Tropez of the Caribbean. Dine in an exquisite bistro, peruse boutique shops and galleries, explore the island by scooter. St. Barths, a chic, celebrity getaway, is an opportunity for indulgence.

Day 5: St. Barths

Time for rest and relaxation. Enjoy a lazy beach day on St. Barths. We drop anchor at one of the island’s superb beaches to swim, snorkel, sun and play.

Day 6: Ile Fourchue, Tintamarre

This morning we set sail toward St. Martin. En route, we stop at the diminutive Ile Fourchue for a hike up the steep hills followed by a refreshing swim. Next, we’re off to Tintamarre to lay in the mud baths! We sail to St. Martin to spend the evening.

Day 7: St. Martin

St Martin is divided between French and Dutch sides. Today, we embark on a short sail to Grande Case. This French village, known as the Gourmet Capital of the Caribbean, has gastronomic delights and fine boutique shopping. We anchor off one of the calmest beaches on the island. It’s perfect for children, but with lively beach bars and restaurants to entertain the adults.

Day 8: LAYSAN Departure St. Maarten

Sad day! Today we must say goodbye. Departures from St. Maarten International Airport include direct flights to the USA and Europe. Wherever you call home, we bet you’ll be back soon for another extraordinary adventure aboard Laysan. Once is never enough.
