If you have chartered a Westport 130, you will appreciate the design and excellent sea keeping ability of this 85’ Pacific Mariner, a scaled down version with similar lines. The yacht has just emerged from a lengthy mechanical upgrade, and boasts some lovely new furnishings and great toys.
Elizabeth Andrews, the Mate, greeted us on board. She is the scuba diving instructor who will guide you through remarkable reefs teaming with parti-colored fish. She said her favorite charter clients are those who like to get in the water because she loves playing in the water. When you play, she gets to play too. Of all the loads of toys on board, the two new paddleboards have become Elizabeth’s favorites.
We lingered awhile in the comfortable main salon, sampling the delicious array of canapés that Chef Kevin had prepared. His creative hors d’oeuvres included radishes stuffed with mascarpone, a surprising and delightful sensation, tuna seared to perfection with sesame seed crust, and a pomegranate puff pastry that had a tingling burst of flavor.
SEAS THE MOMENT has four, romantic guest staterooms. The uncluttered décor is soothing and sets the tone for relaxation. The glow of indirect lighting under guest beds makes them magically hover a few inches above the floor. Textured carpet suggests the gentle ripple of waves on shore.
Up on the flybridge the mood swings to one of gaiety. Bright yellow and nautical blue and white stripe upholstery have a festive appeal. Sun loungers are very inviting, as is the Jacuzzi to starboard.
Captain Andy Barton is a sportfishing aficionado. It takes no coaxing for him to launch the well-equipped 29′ SeaHunter. His favorite place to take fellow anglers is Harbour Island, Bahamas, in the spring and early summer.
