Sirena 64: Big Yacht, Small Footprint

SIRENA 64: A Head-Turning Debut at Yachts Miami Beach

Turkish shipyard Sirena Yachts has been building elegant sailing yachts since 2006, in collaboration with Azimut Bennetti. In 2016, Sirena 64 debuted at Dusseldorf, the premier launch of their independent, motor yacht brand. The second reveal was at Yachts Miami Beach this past February.

It is little wonder that the Sirena 64 is so impressive. World-renowned Frers Naval Architects & Engineering was entrusted with the naval architecture, exterior styling and engineering. German Frers has a life time of award-winning vessel designs and is well acquainted with the needs of yachtsmen, both weekenders and long-range explorers.

Frers commented to us that for Sirena 64 he “wanted to design something very special”. He did. The brief called for a seafaring expedition yacht, engineered to enjoy life aboard and boasting an impressive top speed. Frers masterfully integrated everything on the wish list into the build, plus quite a bit more.

When the Select Yachts team toured the yacht, we all had the impression of a walk through a much larger vessel. The design of the yacht is all about interior volume and circulation to follow the flow of life, from your morning coffee and newspaper to your nightcap.

There are many separate social areas that each convey a sense of independent space. There are love seats and seating areas for two, reading nooks, and lounge areas for one to nap, or the whole group to gather. There are two al fresco dining arrangements and a convenient guest bathroom. A Jacuzzi with 360 degree views is positioned on the bow. Friends and family can cruise together without infringing on each other’s space.

Interiors by Spadolili Design Studio are contemporary, featuring a muted, masculine color scheme. Dark wood flooring and rich wenge inlays highlight the exceptional joinery. On the main deck, living and dining areas have excellent views with plenty of daylight through large glass windows.

The forward-facing love seat at the helm is a favorite spot with breathtaking views. The well-designed, enclosed galley amidships, sized like an apartment kitchen, even has a dishwasher. The chef can work without disturbing the guests, aromas are contained, and service from here can be fast and efficient.

There’s a 258-square-foot owners’ suite with full-beam bathroom. Two en-suite staterooms come equipped with twin and queen berths. The en-suite crew cabin off the engine compartment comfortably accommodates two crew members.

Outdoor living is superb. The flybridge features a retractible awning for protective shade, barbecue area with sink and fridge, a clever slide out counter table, an outside shower, a spacious dining area with terrific views, as well as an oversize, forward-facing sun pad opposite the helm.

The Select Yachts team was very impressed with the Sirena 64. Conceived as a family seafaring vessel, a top speed of 27 knots makes her perfect for island hopping, or an afternoon on the waterways with friends. In addition to an intelligent layout, quality craftsmanship and great attention to details, the yacht is eco-friendly. Her small carbon footprint at 10 knots requires only 13 GPH and has a range of about 1,000 nautical miles. This handsome, semi-displacement build is sure to help leverage Sirena Marine into position amongst the world’s most iconic shipyards.
