Crew Profile

Harvey Rogers, born in 1973, from Gloucestershire, England, has been a keen seaman from a young age. After achieving a bachelor degree in marketing Harvey managed restaurants, food export, and was an area manager in the retail sector before leaving the UK to follow a passion for the ocean.

Teaching diving, power boating and sailing led Harvey through Thailand, Egypt, The Maldives and Bermuda to the Caribbean in 2008, where he has a lot of experience sailing and motoring throughout the Caribbean chain, and particularly The British Virgin Islands, where he, his wife Rabbit, and dog Starboard now call home. Harvey is a certified RYA Ocean Yachtmaster for sail and power (offshore).

Having chartered in and around the BVI for many years, Harvey's local knowledge and friendliness with everyone he meets will ensure that yours is a vacation to remember.

His dry British humour and one liners are always a great hit with guests, and the stories he tells about the islands and adventures at sea bring people back time and again.

Marley grew up in the Fraser valley in British Columbia and from an early age, could be found sailing with her dad on Silvermere Lake in his boat, a passion that has stayed with her throughout her life. She finished school and moved closer to the ocean to the city of Vancouver, a city well known for its diverse food scene, and Marley was part of it as soon as she arrived, helping out in the kitchen for her mother and grandfathers' successful catering company. This sparked her interest and love of food, which took her to The Northwest Culinary Academy, where she learned her professional chef skills. She is always happy in the galley, and equally at home producing 5 star meals, or more simple fare, accommodating food allergies/intolerances and providing freshly cooked meals and snacks throughout your visit. She is happy to incorporate any favourites, and will discuss your food requirements with you prior to your trip.

Marley benefited from her parents taking her on many adventurous trips, where she was exposed to many different cultures and food. She caught the travel bug and knew that she wanted to live in an area where the ocean was always near. Getting more serious about sailing, Marley took her STCW, and realised that the marine industry is what she is passionate about. She travelled the Virgin Islands for four months, and fell in love with their beauty and is now excited to share her passion for this beautiful area with her guests and make their vacations exciting and memorable.

Combining her joy of sailing, her love of cooking, and her passion for the ocean as a snorkeller, and SCUBA diver make Marley an ideal Chef/First Mate on board the Ma Ha.

Harvey's calm and competent attitude makes for very relaxed sailing, and he is complimented perfectly by Marley's overt and gregarious nature. Harvey and Marley's years of experience in providing superb customer service ensure unforgettable memories, and a truly exceptional Caribbean yacht charter experience.
