Crew Profile

Marc Wellnitz, Captain, Canadian-German
Captain Marc Wellnitz was born in Canada to German parents and grew up in the Caribbean. His diverse background allowed him the opportunity to learn German and Spanish. He began his career in yachting in 1990 and traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico, and the west coasts of Canada and the U.S. His passion for water activities is far reaching, including sailing, scuba diving, skim boarding, water skiing, wakeboarding, and paddle boarding. He also has experience in free diving. In 1999, Marc received his captains license, and he now currently holds his 500 GRT license. He has acquired many other credentials over the years while running private and charter yachts. Marc is married and has two young sons who live in Florida.

Michael Mikey Johnson, First mate, American
Mikey grew up on the waters of Massachusetts. After studying business at Salve Regina in Newport, RI and a short stint in the office world he began his yachting career. Working in the industry for more than 9 years he has worked on yachts such as M/Y EVVIVA, M/Y LUCKY SEVEN, M/Y BOARDWALK and M/Y KALEEN. He has traveled the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Bahamas, as well as the northeast and Pacific Northwest coasts of the United States. When he is not at sea his favorite activities include paddle boarding, scuba diving, traveling, and photography. His favorite place to visit is Nantucket and hopes to one day own a home there.

Laura Cole, Chief Stewardess, American
Laura Cole was born and raised in a small town in North West New Jersey. After graduating from college with a degree in both theater and public relations she moved to her favorite vacation spot, the US Virgin Islands.
While working there she discovered the yachting industry. She loved the idea of being able to blend her passions for travel, the ocean and meeting new people.
It did not take long for the opportunity to come up and off she was on her first yacht.
She was hooked and has not looked back since then.
Laura other hobbies and interests include painting, performing, cuisine, and fitness.

Chef Gonzalo R G Donis, Chef, Venezuela
Chef Gonzalo also known as Chef G comes from Venezuela. At an early age he was always hanging around the kitchen preparing meals for the family. Strangely enough he had to become a lawyer to find out that his true passion was to cook and make people happy with food. Educated in one of the most recognized culinary schools in the world Le Cordon Bleu.

Larry Morgan, Engineer, American
Larry was born in Connecticut. At an early age he took to sailing on the Connecticut River. He worked his way up the racing fleet from Opti to lazers to 420s. In college he studied marine affairs and business. After college in Road Island he worked the marinas in the area. Larry relocated to south Florida where he found his true passion, Yachting! Starting off as mate and progressed to engineer. Now having worked in the industry for many years he has traveled the east and west coast of United States, the Caribbean and Bahamas. He has also been to the Mediterranean. He enjoys working with his hands and when not working on the systems on the boat he likes building with wood.

Gina Maull, Stewardess, American
Gina was born and raised in a small town of Pennsylvania. After graduating college with a degree with Communications and a minor in Business she took her first opportunity and moved to South Florida to put her degree to work. While working her desk job she realized that her passion to be on the water and to travel was far more important which led her to her yachting career. Three years later and a lot of stamps in her passport she is content and happy with her career as a Yacht stewardess.

Andrew Maxwell, Deckhand, American
Andrew's passion for yachting started when he lived in Minnesota on a lake and worked at a marine power sports dealer ship. In high school he took all the marine shop classes available. This in turn kept him the water. After graduation Andrew attended Mott Technical Institute where he studied electrical engineering. He then attended a Commercial Dive Academy. Where he then worked as a diver for a few years which one day lead him to yachting. Andrew has been working on yachts for the last 7 years both on private and charter.
